From as far back as I can remember, I have always wanted to visit this magnificent and mysterious land. Over the years I have had many dreams which involved my visiting the "Rooftop of the World". It seemed to me that I must have been Nepalese in a previous life. In the same way as a trans-sexual lusts after the body in which they feel comfortable, I have lusted after becoming one with this snowy kingdom. Every Christmas, I would ask Santa for airline tickets to Kathmandu and now finally Christmas has come for me. I must admit that I have been a little disorganised in respect of Russia and Mongolia as most of my reading before the trip was about Nepal, a pleasure rather than a chore I can assure you. I hope you will enjoy my internet diary as the days count down to me living my childhood dream - only 50 to go. In my next posting, I will include a deeply person poem written by me as a child about the joy and supreme happiness I felt I would experience on arriving on Nepal. I did not want to post it now without giving you some background as I felt it could be emotionally overwhelming for both poet and reader. I am here, Nepal is here, the time is right, please walk with me in my dream. |
